Since its founding, Cortland Elks Lodge 748 on Groton Avenue has been one of the most active fraternal organizations in central New York. Members show up for each other and for the broader Cortland community in ways that go well beyond the lodge walls: scholarships, veterans' programs, youth initiatives, and local charitable giving that adds up year after year.

Step inside and you get two distinct experiences. The bar is comfortable, reasonably priced, and staffed by people who actually know your name after a visit or two. The back banquet room is where the real magic happens, a spacious, easy-to-configure space that has hosted everything from intimate retirement dinners to full-scale fundraiser galas. Parking is plentiful right off Groton Ave, which guests consistently mention as a genuine convenience.

With a 4.7-star rating across dozens of reviews, the lodge earns its reputation the old-fashioned way: food that is ample and delicious, a cash bar that does not gouge you, and staff who go out of their way to make sure your event lands exactly how you pictured it.

What We Offer

The banquet room at Lodge 748 is the anchor of the operation. It scales gracefully for small private parties and large-scale banquets alike, with flexible seating and a team that handles setup so you do not have to. Catered food is crowd-pleasing and generous, and the cash bar keeps costs reasonable without sacrificing selection.

Beyond event hosting, the lodge offers a full social calendar for members: weekly gatherings, lodge-sponsored dinners, seasonal events, and community fundraisers that give members a real reason to show up regularly. If you are not yet a member, the process to join is straightforward and the community you walk into is genuinely welcoming.

For groups planning a corporate banquet, family reunion, awards ceremony, or community fundraiser in the Cortland, NY area, Lodge 748 delivers the space, the food, and the attentive staff to make it work without the inflated price tag of a commercial event venue.

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
